אדריכלות ישראלית - גיליון 126

2021 אוגוסט 126 חינה של הזיקנה אדריכלות ישראלית 85 | | Conserved Library, Givat Haviva The historic campus at Givat Haviva was founded in 1949 as the Hakibbutz Hameuhad education centre. The library at its center was designed in 1952 by architect Shmuel Mestechkin in the form of a British 'pillbox', and named for its appearance as the 'Windmill'. In 2019 architect Yoav Messer and Megama Architects were invited to conserve the building, turning it from a student Co-lab into a Hub, broadening the range of activities. In this framework, the main entrance, blocked for years, was reopened and the passages were widened to provide better interaction with the surrounding campus.
