אדריכלות ישראלית - גיליון 129

Project of the Season - Dancing Building אדריכלות ישראלית Architecture of Israel #129 May 2022 | | 12 This community dance center is located in a compound of public buildings for creative activity in the center of the city. An interior passage connects the two main streets and invites passersby to experience activities in the dance hall and adjacent studios, and exhibitions in the public galleries above. The building was planned according to the basic principles of green building: a light, opaque polycarbonate roof floats above the passage and fills nearby spaces with filtered natural light, emphasizing the components of the 'dancing' mantle. All the public areas are open to the natural elements, eliminating the need for air-conditioning. The mature trees were conserved and are visible from all the built areas. The exterior walls are coated with a 'breathing' plaster based on natural minerals that filter the damp, salty sea air in the neighborhood Architecture & Interior Design: Yoav Messer Architects.
