2022 אוגוסט #130 שינויים בתכנון בתי חולים אדריכלות ישראלית 65 | | | Student & staff dorms, Shamir Medical Center The building in the green space on the southern side of the medical center, creates a spatial continuum with the four existing residential buildings designed in the 1960’s. To this end, the rectangular design, similar to the original structures, was selected with an optimal northern/ southern orientation to prevent direct illumination by the low afternoon sun in the east and west. In terms of the context, the new building is set up on the green axis, thus connecting two classrooms with the existing buildings to create a green residential campus, with most parts of the building flooded with natural light via a skylight above the staircase.
