Naturally, the living spaces were facing the sea, while bedrooms were directed to the east, to anable awakening naturally with the morning sunlight. Designed by Leon Stynen & Paul De Meyer in the early 70's, the Riverside Tower is a high-rise development beautifully situated on the bend of the river Scheldt, not far from the city center. Bram Van Cauter, first became familiar with this high-rise during his internship, managing to purchase two duplex apartments only 10 years later, when Studio Okami was better established. Redesigned for a couple without childred, the aim in this apartment was to make use of the location of the three separate bedrooms by placing a "greenhouse" made of glass and steel-frame. This allows natural light to penetrate the entire apartment while affording a spectacular view of the city.
