העלייה הגדולה מאתיופיה הותירה באדיס אבבה שתי
קהילות יהודיות.
פרויקט הגמר מנסה לבסס עבורן יישוב קבע על מוסדותיו
הציבוריים, תוך שימוש באדריכלות הוורנקולרית הקיימת.
מדובר בשלושה מתחמים: האחד כולל ישיבה, ספרייה,
בית כנסת, מקווה שמוזן במי גשמים, ומשרדים; השני -
מוזיאון, והשלישי - אתר זיכרון חפור הממוקם על גבעה
ומורכב משני חרוטים שמאזכרים את אירוע העלייה לארץ
באמצעות סימול ירושלים, ונמל התעופה של אדיס אבבה.
The great emigration from Ethiopia left
behind two Jewish communities in Addis
Ababa.
Using existing concepts of vernacular
architecture, the project attempts to
establish a permanent settlement with public
institutions. The project focused on building
three public institutions: one with a yeshiva,
library, mikveh, synagogue and offices; the
second - a museum; and the third - dug into
the hill, a memorial site made of two cones
symbolically recalling the emigration event
through the image of Jerusalem and the
central airport in Addis Ababa.
