בין מזרח העיר ומערבה, הוא ״מאיים״ על האזור למוד-הקרבות, תוך קריאת תיגר על המסורת השבויה
באמונות תפלות, כשהוא מפנה את חזיתו לעיר (לא לים), מעבר לבית הקברות המרוני. ה״תותחים״
אינם אלא שתי אנטנות הנצפות מכל רחבי העיר, והפכו לנקודת ציון במרחב.

N.B.K. Penthouse in a residential
domain, central Beirut, 2013
The three-storey penthouse designed on top of one
of three buildings by Khoury in 2008, leaves no doubt
as to its source of inspiration. Located between east
and west, it “threatens” the battle-tested area, while
challenging the inherently superstitious tradition
by facing the city (as opposed to the sea) beyond
the Maronite cemetery. Resembling canons, the
two antennas seen from a distance have become a
landmark in the city skyline.
